This 987.2 Generation Cayman fixed a number of major reliablility issues related to the 1st Generation 987.1 incuding the removal of the IMS Shaft/Bearing, and by using DFI (Direct Fuel Injection) & Revised cylinder liners, the .2 was able to not have piston bore scoring as the earlier cars suffered with, and overall a more reliable car.
